Encrypted Web Traffic Spiked Since Snowden Leaks. Surveillance revelations appear to lead to big jump in SSL web encryption across the world. Across Europe the level of encrypted traffic has quadrupled since last year when the Edward Snowden revelations on mass Internet snooping broke.
According to figures from traffic management company Sandvine, which released its Global Internet Phenomena report this week, although failed to make a note of the jump in SSL traffic from 1.47 percent to 6.10 percent, TorrentFreak reported.

Windows mobile phone beats Blackberry for web traffic

Microsoft's Windows Phone mobile operating system has surpassed BlackBerry in yet another market stat.

Surveying all recent Web traffic generated by smartphone operating systems in North America, Chitika found that Windows Phone finally inched past BlackBerry to earn the No. 3 spot behind Apple's iOS and Google's Android operating systems. From February 1 through April 30, Windows Phone's share of traffic actually stayed flat at about 1 percent. But BlackBerry's share dripped from 1 percent to 0.8 percent, pushing the phone maker down to fourth place in March, according to Chitika.

Hundreds of children had fun in the sun when they took part in a national running event today in Preston.

About 800 youngsters took part in the INEOS GO Run For Fun event at Preston Park.

The event was hosted by Stockton School Sport Partnership (SSP) at Preston Park and was attended by Michael Rimmer, Beijing and London 2012 Team GB 800m athlete and six-time British champion.
